About Me

My name is Nicola and I qualified as a counsellor in 2003. I have worked in business, educational settings and Private Practice as a counsellor and in a large counselling organisation as the Clinical Lead for Safeguarding.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and work in accordance with their ethical framework. As well as my core training I have undertaken advanced training to specialise in working with young people and DDP levels 1 & 2 to work with parents and children. I hold an enhanced DBS certificate and have training in Safeguarding and numerous other areas of child and adult mental health. Please contact me if you would like to know more about my background and training.

I am a birth parent and adoptive parent and understand the ups and downs of family life. I am passionate about improving the mental health of the people I work with and reducing the stigma surrounding mental health.

I have worked with people experiencing many different kinds of emotional distress. My job is, quite simply, to help you feel better and to help you move forward with your life.

A few examples of the issues I deal with include:

Childhood and Adolescence

Anxiety

Depression

Suicidal thoughts and self harm

Sexuality and gender issues

Grief

Relationships

Parenting and family issues

Low self-esteem, confidence

If you are unsure if I am able to help please call me and we can chat things through. I look forward to hearing from you.

Best Wishes

Nicola
